About Walnut House

Heirloom Quality. Mathematical Precision. Made for the Trade.

A Lifelong Love of Textiles

My journey with the needle and thread began in childhood, sitting beside my grandmother. It was on her heavy, foot-powered treadle Singer machine that she taught me not just how to sew, but how to respect the fabric, appreciate the engineering of a stitch, and take pride in slow, deliberate craftsmanship.

My very first solo project was a simple set of curtains. From that moment on, I was hooked.

That passion followed me to college in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I worked at Calico Corners. It was a dream job—though truth be told, I spent almost every paycheck purchasing beautiful designer textiles to experiment with at home. It was there that I truly learned to speak the language of prints, repeats, and fibers, developing a deep, tactile understanding of how different fabrics behave.

45 Years of Craftsmanship, Focused on the Perfect Detail

Over the last 45 years, my workroom has brought countless custom designs to life. I have fabricated delicate nursery layettes, structured custom Roman shades, elaborate bedding, and towering drapery panels.

These decades of diverse experience taught me a vital lesson: the success of any custom project lies entirely in the details.

Having mastered the entire spectrum of home soft furnishings, I have chosen to dedicate the focus of Walnut House exclusively to the art of the custom pillow. Pillows are the ultimate punctuation mark of a room—the finishing detail that ties an entire design concept together.

Because we specialize solely in pillows, we bring an unmatched level of precision to every cover we create. Whether it is a flawless pattern match across a zippered seam, a mathematically perfect mitered border, or a beautifully proportioned micro-welt, we ensure your client’s finishing touches are executed to absolute museum-quality standards.
